Totally Tuna Comfort

Casserole. Easy, Comforting, Gooey.

This is another pantry dinner.
2 cans tuna in water
Cream of something soup
1/2c milk
1 can veggies, peas, beans... something tossable, what you have on hand. All good.
1/4-1/2t dill weed depending on taste
1/2t onion powder
pasta, I had macaroni on hand so that's what we used
cheddar cheese, shredded

Traditionally this called for peas, I had cut green beans, so that's what I'm used for dinner last night. I also added some dill weed, and onion powder. It worked out pretty good! It's your typical pasta comfort casserole, but once in a while, ya just gotta have it. Not to mention it's essentially a free meal.

The instructions are very simple. Mix together the soup, milk, seasonings, and drained vegetables

Boil the type of pasta you are using, according to package directions. Drain pasta. Mix togher with soup mixture. Pour into casserole pan and bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes (remember my oven cooks cool. We baked this recipe at 25 minutes. You may only need 20. Keep an eye.

Your last step is sprinkling on top the cheese. If you have some crackers, chips or bread crumbs that you can crush for additional topping, go for it. Bake for another 2-5 minutes. Let sit for a couple minutes, have a blankie ready and serve yourself up some comfort.

In case you were wondering, aside from baking time, this dinner didn't take any more time than a packaged tuna dinner kit.

Boxed tuna dinner... eat your heart out!
